Founder & Artistic Director
Anaïs Haven
Anaïs was captivated by the raw honesty of Argentine Tango from the very beginning and it has held her heart ever since. For her, Tango is a profound expression of the full spectrum of human emotions—poignant sadness, exhilarating joy, possessive jealousy, and boundless love—everything that words cannot convey.
As a dancer, Anaïs is known for her musicality, elegance, playfulness, and joy. She is in demand as a master teacher and performer throughout the United States and her guiding belief is that true teachers never stop learning—both from fellow dancers and, most importantly, from their students.
As Artistic Director and Founder, Anaïs fosters a vibrant, inclusive atmosphere where dancers of all levels feel inspired to grow. She emphasizes collaboration, viewing Tango as a shared experience between partners, teachers, and the community. Her teaching focuses on technique, musicality, artistry, and self-expression, encouraging curiosity and learning from mistakes. This nurturing environment allows Argentine Tango to flourish, cultivating not only skilled dancers but also a passionate, connected community.
Instructors
Jaime Bravo
Jaime grew up in a Latin household and took up dance in 2019 as a committed, daily hobby. Within ten months he had performed Cha-Cha at the Salsa Congress, gained proficiency in half a dozen styles, and began focusing on the dynamic and connection found within partner dances. In 2023, he became the Argentine Tango instructor at Piel Canela where he still resides as both instructor and performer. Of the styles known, he considers Tango to be the most difficult, beautiful, and essential one to learn, as further mastery of it means mastery of understanding what it is to dance with another person.
Sarah Wadsley
Sarah grew up as an athlete and dancer in Australia. She was trained in ballet and jazz at the Hobart Dance Academy, before furthering her training in jazz, tap and ballet at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts. As a professional actor and performer, Sarah appreciates the connection, emotion, and authenticity of Argentine Tango. She loves the warring ease and challenge of the discipline; she credits it with teaching her a lot about herself, as well as the #TangoFace that is so useful in everyday life. Sarah's passion for continuous improvement fuels her dancing and teaching.
Karina Rodriguez
Born in Salta, Argentina, Karina has always had a strong Argentinian and Bolivian folkloric influence. Representing her Argentinian culture has always been a top priority, whether through food, music, dance, or futból. At 14, dance became a central part of her life, both instructing and leading groups of adolescents and adults in various Bolivian folkloric dance troupes. But home is where the heart is. Argentine Tango always called to her and from the moment she took her first lesson, she fell in love. There's great pride in learning Tango and representing Argentinians well. She's grateful for every incredible instructor, fellow dancer, and friend she's had the pleasure of meeting through this tango journey and for those yet to come.
