Anaïs Haven Tango Turns One: A Night of Cake, Chaos, and Community 🎉

✨ What a magical night ✨

From laughter and empanadas to tandas and tangos, our birthday celebration was everything I once dreamed Para Dos could be. Cake, chaos, and community—all wrapped into one unforgettable night.

The room glowed, Matilda’s music spilled into every corner, and the unmistakable sound of friends laughing (and occasionally causing trouble) was heavenly. For one night, it felt less like a practica and more like family.

What is linear time and how has it been already one year? Virginia, my tango baby ages ago at Piel Canela, now leading the beginner class. Yesenia, another tango baby once, delivering the best empanadas above or below the equator. (The woman is single-handedly responsible for people not wanting to dance because, “Wait, are there more empanadas?”) And Matilda, who came to the very first teeny-tiny (and I mean tiny) Para Dos, now slaying as the DJ with the most epic cortinas I’ve ever heard.

This is the heart of our studio: old faces, new faces, always the same spirit. The same connection. The same community.

Thank you to everyone who’s been part of our first year. Whether you’ve stepped onto the floor once or a thousand times, you’ve shaped this community we are building!

Here’s to Year Two: more embraces, more laughter, more magical tandas…and yes, plenty more chaos.
